Our group walks are a great way for your dog to enjoy exercise, socialise, and get stimulation in a safe, structured, and fun environment. We keep our groups small—no more than six dogs per walk—to ensure that every dog receives the attention and care they need.
Most of our group walks take place off-lead in open countryside locations, giving the dogs the freedom to explore, play, and interact. For those still working on their recall, we use long lines and positive reinforcement training to help build confidence and responsiveness. Whether it's through toys, treats, or a game of fetch, we keep motivation high and tails wagging.
At A Helping Hand, we only use force-free, positive methods on our walks. We believe in rewarding good behaviour and helping each dog thrive in a way that suits their individual personality and needs.
Emily began the business with solo walks, carefully learning the needs and quirks of each dog before slowly introducing them to group walks. Each group has been thoughtfully built over time to ensure compatibility, safety, and harmony. Our current groups are now well-established, with dogs who know and enjoy each other’s company.
We encourage dogs joining group walks to attend at least once a week on a regular basis, as this helps maintain consistency and allows the group to form stronger bonds—not just with one another, but with us too. Regular attendance helps build trust, reduces anxiety, and ensures every walk is something your dog looks forward to.
We visit a variety of exciting locations, from woodland trails and open fields to riverside paths, providing plenty of mental and physical enrichment along the way. Every outing is a new adventure!
Above all, we aim to make our walks safe, enriching, and full of fun—giving your dog the exercise, companionship, and care they deserve.
